Best Answer: I remembered those were all over the place back in the 70's, then I acquired a 1980 vintage dilly tilt trailer. I haven't done this, but I did get some people to explain to me how to use it to launch and recover from the shore where there's no ramp, or if the water level is too low to launch normally. You'll notice the tongue is hinged and secured with a pin.
To launch, you're going to pull that pin, and push the bow straight up. They say it doesn't take much effort. When it's tilted sufficiently, the boat just slides into the water.
They say a couple feet is all the depth you need. To recover, you have to tilt the trailer, attach the winch strap and start cranking. That's all there is to it. Don't forget to put the pin back in when you're done. I had found some pics of the operation somewhere, but that was a long time ago. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed. Yeah, another project. Some of you may already know that as crazy as I am about glassics, I'm also crazy about vintage trailers. Well three weekends ago, Mercedes and I went up to see Bruce (Motorhead) in Redding to pickup a couple of Gator trailers.
You've all seen the one that was under his '59 Skagit Skimaster. It's a '60 Gator model 216, designed for '15 and '16 glassics. This trailer is now licensed and registered in my name. The other one is a late 50's Gator trailer with round tubular frame design. After closer inspection, it is an actual '56, rather than a '58, model 214.
Fath Ul Qadeer Download. It's stamped on the 'U' frame of the trailer. I'll get to the story of registering the '56 at another time; it wasn't easy but now it's legal. Anyway, there were no papers on this trailer; however, you don't really see many of these trailers around so it's worthy of a restore. You're probably wandering, 'Why is he restoring this trailer now when he has to restore the Sun Valley for 'La Purisima'?' The answer is that after talking to the powdercoat guy, if I can get two trailers and have them done at the same time, it'll save me some dough. So that's why. The Sun Valley and the '56 will be blasted and powdercoated at the same time.
